1 Hay, John Milton

Договор между США и Колумбией о статусе будущего Панамского канала. Подписан 22 января 1903 в Вашингтоне госсекретарем США Хеем [ Hay, John Milton] и поверенным в делах Колумбии в США Т. Эрраном. Правительство Колумбии разрешало передачу США всех прав французской Компании Панамского канала на сооружение, эксплуатацию, контроль и охрану канала, а также на использование полосы колумбийской территории шириной 5 миль с каждой стороны канала в течение 100 лет. 3 Hay-Bunau-Varilla Treaty
Подписан 18 ноября 1903 госсекретарем США Хеем [ Hay, John Milton] и посланником Панамы Ф. Ж. Бюно-Варильей. Подготовлен до образования Панамской Республики, а подписан через 15 дней после ее создания. Предоставлял США бессрочное право на пользование полосой панамской территории для сооружения, эксплуатации и защиты канала шириной по 5 миль с каждой стороны канала, а также полный контроль над нею.
